First Birthday Invitations & RSVPs

One whole year! Plan a first birthday that works around naps, keeps grandparents in the loop and doesn't leave you chasing replies.

A first birthday is really a celebration for the grown-ups: you've made it through the first year. The birthday baby won't remember it, but grandparents, godparents, aunts and uncles will, and so will you.

That shapes the planning. Timing has to work around naps, the guest list is family-first, and the invite has to work for relatives of every age. One simple link with every detail means less to organise in a year that's already been busy enough.

How it works

  1. 1. Pick a design and add your details

Choose a template, then add the date, venue and anything guests need to know. It takes a few minutes.

  2. 2. Share one link

Send it by email, text or WhatsApp, or let Invitify email your guest list for you.

  3. 3. Watch the replies come in

RSVPs, dietary needs and plus-ones land in one guest list, with reminders sent for you.

Classic
Isla is turning one! Please join us for cake, bubbles and a lot of mess at our house on Saturday 24 April, 10.30am-1pm. Let us know if you can come by 14 April.
Rhyming
Our little girl is turning one - come and join us for some fun! Brunch, balloons and birthday cake, and lots of photos we can take.
Nap-friendly
We're keeping it short and sweet around nap time - drop in any time between 10.30 and 1 for a coffee, a slice of cake and a cuddle with the birthday girl.
Gifts
Isla is very lucky and has plenty of toys. If you'd like to give something, a book with a note inside for her to read when she's older would be lovely.

Planning tips

Plan around nap time

A late-morning brunch or a mid-afternoon party after the lunchtime nap gives you the best chance of a happy birthday baby. Keep it to two or three hours.

Send invites 3–4 weeks ahead

Grandparents and family travelling in need notice. Three to four weeks is plenty for local friends; give relatives a heads-up earlier.

Keep the guest list manageable

First birthdays are usually family plus a few close friends and their babies. A smaller list is easier on the birthday child and on you.

Ask about little guests

Ask parents to add their children when they reply, so you know how many highchairs, babies and toddlers to plan for.

Be clear about gifts

If you'd rather have no gifts, books, or contributions to a savings account, say so politely in the invite. Most guests appreciate the guidance.

Ask about dietary needs

With guests spanning every age, it helps to know about allergies and dietary needs before you plan the food.

Pick one, add your details, and share. You can switch designs at any time before you publish.

Common questions

When should you send first birthday invitations?

Three to four weeks before the party. Give grandparents and relatives who are travelling an earlier heads-up so they can plan their visit.

What time should a first birthday party be?

Most parents choose a late-morning brunch (around 10-1) or an early afternoon party after the lunchtime nap (around 2-5). Keep it to two or three hours so the birthday baby isn't overtired.

What should a first birthday invitation say?

The baby's name, date, start and end time, address, the RSVP deadline, and any notes on gifts, parking or what to bring. A photo or a line about the first year makes it feel personal.

How do I say 'no gifts' on a first birthday invitation?

Keep it light: 'Your presence is the only present we need' or 'Isla has plenty of toys - please don't feel you need to bring a gift.' If you'd like something specific, like a book or a savings contribution, say that instead.

Can guests RSVP without creating an account?

Yes. Guests - including grandparents - open the link and reply in seconds without signing up.
