Will you attend?
By forty, most of your friends have jobs, children, commutes and calendars that book up weeks ahead. Getting everyone in one room takes planning, and the biggest enemy of a good 40th is a vague invite sent too late.
A clear invite page fixes most of that. Share the date early, be upfront about whether it's a child-free night, and let people reply in seconds from wherever they are, so you're not chasing RSVPs at the school gate.
How it works
1. Pick a design and add your details
Choose a template, then add the date, venue and anything guests need to know. It takes a few minutes.
2. Share one link
Send it by email, text or WhatsApp, or let Invitify email your guest list for you.
3. Watch the replies come in
RSVPs, dietary needs and plus-ones land in one guest list, with reminders sent for you.

Planning tips
Send invites 6–8 weeks ahead
Friends with young families need time to line up childcare. A 40th sent with three weeks' notice will lose guests who would have loved to come.
Make childcare plans easy
Say whether it's adults only and give a clear finish time. Parents can plan babysitters around a party that ends at midnight much more easily than one that ends 'late'.
Spell out the theme
If there's fancy dress or a theme, put it near the top of the invite and give a few ideas. Half-hearted themes usually come from vague instructions.
Set an RSVP deadline two to three weeks out
That gives you time to confirm numbers with the venue and nudge anyone who hasn't replied, without the last-minute scramble.
Ask about food preferences
If you're serving food, a dietary field in the RSVP saves guessing - especially with friends who've gone vegan, gluten-free or alcohol-free since your 30th.
Send a reminder the week before
A friendly reminder with the address and start time cuts no-shows and stops the 'where is it again?' messages on the night.

Common questions
How far in advance should you send 40th birthday invitations?
Six to eight weeks ahead. Many guests will have young children or busy jobs, and that extra notice is what lets them arrange childcare and keep the date free.
What should I write on a 40th birthday invitation?
The essentials are the name, date, start and finish times, venue address, dress code or theme, and the RSVP deadline. Then say whether partners and children are invited, and whether food is provided.
Should a 40th birthday party be adults only?
That's entirely up to you - but whichever you choose, say it clearly in the invite. A daytime family party and an evening child-free party are both popular; the problems start when guests have to guess.
What are good 40th birthday party themes?
Decade themes (the year you were born or the decade you grew up in) are the most popular because they're easy to dress for. Others include a black-tie evening, a favourite film, or 'Forty and Fabulous' gold and glitter.
Can guests RSVP without creating an account?
Yes. They open the invite link, reply and add any notes - no account needed.
